Storage & reheating

Keep leftover slices in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days, or freeze them wrapped tightly for up to three months. Reheat individual slices in the microwave or toaster oven until warmed through before serving.

Common questions

How do you test if the banana bread is fully cooked?

Insert a toothpick into the center of the loaf near the end of the 45–50 minute bake time; it is done when the toothpick comes out clean.

How long should the bread cool after baking?

Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to finish cooling.

When do you add the topping ingredients?

Pour the batter into the prepared pan, then sprinkle the reserved dark chocolate and chopped peanuts over the top right before baking.
