Legal
Privacy
This site is a recipe and writing home for Kara Jones Cooks. It doesn’t have accounts, a shop or a newsletter signup. It has a contact form and an optional, moderated “I made this” form on recipes, and it doesn’t sell or share personal information.
What’s collected
The site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Fonts
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts are requested.
Recipe settings
The recipe scaling and US/metric buttons run in your browser and aren’t sent anywhere.
If you email [email protected] or use the contact form, your name, email and message are used only to reply to you.
Links to social profiles
Links to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
“I made this” posts
If you share a post on a recipe, we store your first name, comment, optional star rating and optional photo with our hosting provider (Cloudflare). Every post is reviewed first and only appears once Kara approves it. Before upload, your photo is resized in your browser, which removes camera and location (EXIF) data. To limit spam we keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address for about an hour; we don’t store the address itself. To have a post removed, email [email protected].
Saved recipes and shopping list
My Recipes, your shopping list and cook-mode settings are stored only in your own browser (local storage). They aren’t sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Pinterest and Instagram
The Pin It button is a plain link: nothing from Pinterest loads until you tap it. Recipe reels show a still image first; Instagram’s player, which may set its own cookies, loads only if you tap to watch.
